African Americans during the Civil Rights Movement

The African American peoples suffered from inequality for all the time that white people had been in contact with them, if they were slaves, or a stepped-on abused body of people.

Edgar Nixon

Leader Of the NAACP

Creator of the Montgomery Bus Boycott

Nixon was in control of the Montgomery bus boycott. The movement was in action before parks arrest, but not publicly. The NAACP needed someone who could make the common black, and white African American supporters people jump up. The arrest of Rosa Parks was perfect for the occasion. Just what was needed. He then organized the Montgomery Bus Boycott. King was appointed the leader by the local NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.)bio_nixon2.jpg
